I love the packaging of the soaps and candles. The design looks organic and fresh. It is refreshing from other spa brands that promote themselves as a luxury brand. Just looking by the pictures, I really want to purchase a few of them for myself because I love scented candles and soaps!
Michael Driver is a freelance Illustrator. His work is mainly featured on newspapers and magazines on small illustrations for articles.
I personally really like his illustration style and techniques. As an Illustration student, his work has really inspired me. The composition and his choices of colours give out a calm and relaxed vibe.
Mira Mikati is another one of fashion designers being interviewed for the project. She designs clothes with playful and fun touches and a lot of colours, which gives a sense of happiness. Her designs features a lot of graphic details and London has inspired her for that.
Personally, I love new designers who are not afraid to experiment using different techniques and incorporating various styles into one piece. Mira’s work is very creative and I can see many celebrities enjoy wearing her pieces.

You can’t argue that being a Youtuber is huge nowadays and Sam King is one of them.
I feel like a lot of Youtubers are being underrated, considering the amount of ideas, work and effort that has to be put in for every video. I think there’s also a huge competition within the youtube society. The contents have to be unique and for the youtuber themselves need to have a personality that separates them from others to gain views and be independent.
One of the designers interviewed for the project is Sarah Beydoun, a designer from Beirut, Lebanon, who has moved to London to focus on her bag design.
Sarah’s bags are printed with unique patterns and prints, as well as using various textile techniques. Even though the project started off as a social project to empower underprivileged women, mostly prisoners and ex-prisoners to help them become financially independent; her bags are now being carried by many a-list celebrities, models and hollywood actresses. Sarah mentioned that she wanted to create collections that are on trend, fresh and fun – the qualities that reflect herself as a fashion designer.
Her bags remind me a lot of Charlotte Olympia’s clutches, which are also quirky playful.

One of the people we’re interviewing for our London project is Emily Wandsworth, the editor of List for Life.
List for Life is an online platform site that features inspirational stories and career and advices. I notice that this kind of website has been famous lately – like Buzzfeed, which features many news, humour stories and trends around the world; and Whowhatwear, which features everything about fashion and trends.
List for Life seems to focus on life and career advice, in order to help readers to achieve their goals. Including interviews with inspiring people.
The website is laid out in a simple way – contents can be easily seen and searched for. The articles are kept short and to the point, which I think is a good thing because the readers won’t get bored reading too much text.
The site is not yet widely known so I’m looking forward to see how the site will improve and establish themselves to compete with other huge sites.
What is branding? What makes a brand strong? How do we establish a brand and make it become recognizable?

Take a look at this commercial by Noble Development Thailand. It is a real estate, property development company, with an emphasis on residential development under the concept that “be different be Noble”. The Company aims to offer exceptional-design living and creative innovation to satisfy customers’ various desires as an alternative option. The contextualize their ideology in this advert in the most unique way possible, reflecting the brand’s image.

I’ve came across the theory of Brand Identity Prism that was created by Jean-Noel Kapferer and I think it sums up what mostly what we need to know about branding. Kapferer identifies six aspects of brand identity, which are physique, personality, culture, relationship, reflection and self-image.
Have a look at a few different brands who have successfully established themselves and is known to have strong brand images and customer loyalty.
